Carl Linnaeus’ Garden party
DATE: Saturday 24 May, 11:00-17:00
VENUE: In and around the Linnaeus Garden in Uppsala, Svartbäcksgatan 27.
Free entrance to the Linnaeus Garden and the Linnaeus Museum all day.
Travel back in time to the 18th century, with rustling skirts, shiny shoe buckles and artisan food. Meet researchers and learn about plants, animals, medicine, and museum collections. Join guided tours or go on a treasure hunt. Listen to 18th century music accompanying the dances of the time.

VENUE: Linnaeus’Hammarby, 15 kilometers South of Uppsala.
Admission is included in the admission fee to Linnaeus’ Hammarby.
Watercolor paintings showing plants, rural environments, and Swedish fika.
The exhibition is open Tuesday–Sunday 11:00–17:00.
Haymaking at Hammarby
During Linnaeus’ time the meadows were harvested to provide winter feed to the farm’s animals. Join us in the Cultural Reserve – learn how to use scythe and rake and how to dry hay on a hayrack. Buy old varieties of vegetables from the kitchen garden. Go on a guided tour in the Reserve together with the peasants or the agricultural historians.
For this events day, you can travel to and from Hammarby with the Lennakatten veteran bus. Please book your bus ticket at the desk att Uppsala Östra railway station. Departure at 10.10 and 12.38.
Country Fair at Hammarby
Family day at Linnaeus’ Hammarby. Come along on walks with the farmers and the agricultural historians. Let the children try on 18th century clothing. Watch when we dye yarn and spin wool. Visit the small crafts fair as well.

Botans dag
Garden and food fair with trade stands, experts, vegetable shows and a multitude of Geraniums on display.
Tropical evening
Extended opening hours in the Tropical Greenhouse. Admire banana plants, carnivorous plants and orchids in the twilight. If you are lucky, you will see the open flowers of the Santa Cruz water lily.The buds open in the evening or night and the flower only lasts two nights.

Chronicle play, talks, dance shows, guided garden tours, and open house in the Linnaeus Museum.
Meadow raking in the cultural reserve
Come and volunteer at Linnaeus’ Hammarby! It is time to harvest the last vegetables and to prepare the forest meadows for winter by raking them and collecting and burning branches. Work side by side with experts on agrarian history and learn about 18th century farming. All helpers will be rewarded with hot dogs and soft drinks.
